Banksy, Stop Sign

Optima Contemporary facilitated the loan of Banksy’s Stop Sign (2023/24) to Moco Museum, enabling the work to be exhibited in both London and Amsterdam.

Transforming one of the most familiar symbols of public authority, Banksy turns the functional language of the street into a platform for artistic intervention and social commentary. Presented within Moco’s contemporary programme, the work reflects the artist’s ability to challenge convention through direct, universally recognisable imagery.

Moco Museum is an independent museum of modern and contemporary art with locations in Amsterdam, Barcelona and London. Its exhibitions bring together street art, modern masters, digital installations and immersive experiences, making influential contemporary art accessible to an international audience.

The loan reflects Optima Contemporary’s commitment to placing significant works in prominent public settings and creating opportunities for wider audiences to experience important contemporary art.
